Annual Banquet is an open luncheon meeting held each January where new executive officers are installed and the annual Business Person of the Year Award is given to a local business leader that has made significant contributions to the development of the community. The event also reflects on the previous year accomplishments and the current year vision.
ATHENA Leadership Awards Luncheon
Each Year the Business Development Connection honors sixteen area individuals during the ATHENA Leadership Awards Luncheon. One individual is selected from among the sixteen honorees to receive this prestigious award. The award recognizes an individual who has attained and personifies the highest level of excellence and creativity in their business or profession, while continuing to devote time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and has actively assisted women in achieving their full leadership potential through service and mentorship.
Breakfast of Champions
Breakfast of Champions is a breakfast event held at various locations around the community. It is structured to provide time for chamber updates, member introductions, and discussion of relevant business & community issues. This event is limited to Members Only.
40 Under Forty Annual Gala
Annual event held in conjunction with the chamber’s Young Professional Initiative. The evening banquet is held to honor 40 outstanding young professionals under the age of 40 for excelling in their profession.
Annual Chamber Open
The Annual Chamber Open is one of the most prestigious, anticipated and just plain fun golf tournaments in Caddo Parish. Played on the beautiful courses of Southern Trace Country Club, the tourney is a perfect place to entertain clients or reward employees with a great round, contests and prizes. The funds raised from this tournament go toward the operation of the Chamber’s full-time lobbyist and business advocacy program.
J. Pat Beaird Industry of the Year Luncheon
This annual event, sponsored by the J. Pat Beaird Memorial Fund and 318Forum, allows the chamber to bring nationally recognized speakers to the area and honor outstanding Industry & Small Businesses who demonstrate “Best Practices” of entrepreneurship, such as sound business planning, fiscal responsibility and innovation in operating their business. Nominations for the awards are accepted year round.
Minority Business Opportunity Awards
The Business Development Connection (BDC) of the Greater Shreveport Chamber recognizes outstanding minority individuals or businesses who are making a difference in our community at the Annual Minority Business Opportunity Awards Dinner.
SHOOT HAPPENS! - CLAY SHOOT
Do you enjoy the great outdoors? Particularly when combined with a little fun and friendly competition? If so, make plans to join us for our family-friendly clay shooting tournament held at the Shreveport Gun Club. Providing a fun, professional, and safe shoot on their covered 10-station sporting clays course.
Northern Exposure is the state’s largest annual, citizen-lobbying caravan. The purpose of Northern Exposure is to make sure north western, north central and north eastern Louisiana remain on the collective map of both lawmakers and the Governor.

YPI Socials & Lunches
These events offer casual after hours networking and social opportunities for young professionals. They also provide an opportunity for members and guests to gather to hear speakers of interest to the community.
