As part of its ongoing Election Education Initiative, today, the Greater Shreveport Chamber is releasing the video interviews of the candidates running for the newly created 6th Congressional District who will appear on the ballot on November 5th.
As part of recent congressional redistricting, portions of Caddo Parish and the City of Shreveport are now included in the 6th Congressional District.
The Greater Shreveport Chamber invited candidates for this new district for individual interviews to gain an insight into their priorities and hear their perspectives on issues that are important to our region. Four of the five candidates traveled to Shreveport to participate in the interviews which took place at the Greater Shreveport Chamber.
While the Chamber does not take a position on candidates for office, we believe that an informed and educated electorate is vital to the robust exercise of our democracy. As such, each election cycle the Chamber undertakes our Election Education Initiative which includes candidate video interviews and enables our member businesses and the voting public to base their voting decisions on information provided directly from the candidates. All candidates were presented the same questions in the same order, and none of the candidates were provided the questions prior to the interview. The interviews were recorded, and the videos are posted on the Chamber’s website and YouTube channel.
